- Total cash awards, $6,500.
- "Art in the Round" is defined as creative interpretations of the vessel form, including bowls, platters, vases, teapots, cups/mugs, urns, and other artful examples of the vessel form.
- The 7 media categories include glass, wood, ceramics, metal, gourds, basketry, mixed/other media.
- $25 entry fee. Artists may submit up to 3 works per entry.
- The full entry fee will be donated to each artist’s favorite community art program, designated by the artist. See details.
- Online competition. Publicly juried via interactive, online voting system.
- One Best of Show winner, one First Place winner in each media category (glass, wood, ceramics, metal, gourds, basketry, mixed/other media), and one State Finalist from each state will be named.
- Best of Show award: $3,000. First place in each media category: $500.
- Best of Show winner, First Place winners in each media category, and State Finalists will receive press coverage and will be featured in various online venues.
- Inaugural year.
- Anticipate 500+ artist participants.
- The ArtInTheRoundContest.com audience is expected to range from 10,000 to 15,000 unique visitors over the course of the year (April 2008 – March 2009).
- Artists and those interested in participating in the voting/jury process should visit www.artintheroundcontest.com to sign up.
- Artist registration dates: 6/1/2008 through 8/15/2008.
- Public jurors may sign up 4/1/2008 through 10/30/2008. The voting process commences on 9/1/2008 and runs through 11/15/2008.
